Our pharmacology department is equipped with all the required instruments like Eddy’s hot plate, Rota rod, actophoto meter, organ bath, instruments for haemocytometry, ECG apparatus, Cook’s pole climbing apparatus, Student’s physiograph, and, convulsiometer to carry out the research activities. We are having CPCSEA approved animal house facility. In the department of pharmacology, we learn about the action of various on the living tissues and then this knowledge is extended to the treatment of various diseases and disorders, thus form the science of therapeutics. It is obvious that both pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics are helpful to medical and paramedical professions. At the same time these subjects are useful to professionals working on pharmaceutical research and marketing. It provides the marketing persons with the knowledge on the product that enables them to communicate to doctors.

Research activities:

The on-going research activities of the department are in the areas of

1. Assessment of safety and efficacy of herbal products
2. Efficacy study of novel drugs for their antidiabetic, hypolipidemic and antiurolithiatic activities etc.
3. Carrying out research activities at undergraduate levels and promoting them for presentation and publication at national and international levels.
